Dr. Mohanty (PI) has made significant contributions to gravitational wave (GW) astronomy such as a regularized coherent network analysis method implemented in the pipeline that made the first GW detection, and Gamma Ray Burst (GRB) triggered analyses. He has pioneered the use of Swarm Intelligence methods in GW data analysis with a recent spin-off in Statistics.
